John Wick 4 Raises The Stakes Even Higher

The trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 was officially unveiled by Lionsgate and it hurls viewers back into Wick’s neon-drenched chaos-filled universe. Needless to say, the trailer is filled with more hight intense action sequences which have us extra excited to return to the franchise’s wide world of underground assassins. John Wick: Chapter 4 is slated to release in theatres on March 24, 2023.

The film anticipates a showdown between Wick and Bill Skarsgard’s Marquis de Gramont, who is hinted at being this instalment’s main antagonist. The trailer has a sense of finality; characters frequently discuss death, and a dreadful rendition of Terry Jack’s “Seasons in the Sun” plays heavily in the background. And like all previous John Wick films, the trailer has combined a sombre philosophical outlook with its joyous, spectacular violence.

The film will see John Wick confronting the High Table, the most potent organisation in the criminal underground, where he learns that his family is connected to the organisation that is after him.

The fourth film in the series will feature several new characters, including Skarsgrd’s Marquis, Hiroyuki Sanada’s Shimazu, and Yen’s Caine. The Continental Hotel’s concierge Charon (Lance Reddick) and owner Winston (Ian McShane), as well as the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), who agreed to work with Wick after the third film, Parabellum, will all make their big-screen debuts. Pop star Rina Sawayama will also make her big-screen debut as Akira.

Donnie Yen, a martial arts actor from Hong Kong, makes his debut in the series. He portrays Caine in the movie, and his confrontation with John Wick will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen. The trailer includes a glimpse of their action sequence that gives a whole new meaning to gun-fu.

Will The John Wick Franchise Continue?

Ballerina, the first John Wick spinoff, is now in production with Blonde star Ana de Armas playing the lead. The Bond actress was initially mentioned in connection with Ballerina more than a year ago, but when production got underway, it was also revealed that two actors from the John Wick franchise will be reprising their roles.

Keanu Reeves will return as John Wick in Ballerina along with Ian McShane, who previously portrayed Winston, the general manager of the Continental hotel that welcomes assassins in the first three instalments.

With John Wick: Chapter 4 releasing soon, fans are screaming for another chapter and more of Keanu Reeves’ suit-clad slayer as the franchise has become a cultural and commercial smash. The fourth and fifth John Wick films were supposed to be filmed concurrently at the beginning of 2021, but those plans were abandoned.
