Top 15 Reveals from Netflix’s Tudum Event

Netflix unveiled several new projects, trailers and first looks for its original content at the 2nd edition of its annual global fan event: Tudum. If you’re unfamiliar with the word ‘Tudum’ it’s the phonetic spelling of the sound that plays at the beginning of all of Netflix’s original content.

Like the previous year, the Tudum this year was enormous, with a ton of announcements, trailers and behind-the-scenes footage. Since it’s a lot to catch up on, here are the top 15 announcements at Tudum!

Netflix Movies

Enola Holmes 2 – November 4, 2022

The event kicked off with a trailer for Enola Holmes 2 which stars two of Netflix’s most known actors: Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things and Henry Cavill from The Witcher. The sequel will premiere on Netflix on November 4, 2022.

Slumberland – November 24, 2022

Slumberland, the Netflix film starring Jason Momoa and Marlow Barkley arrives on the streaming platform on November 24. Based on the teaser, we can expect wild and fascinating scenes featuring Momoa as he introduces Barkley to his colourful world.

Pinocchio – December 9, 2022

Disney+ may have two Pinocchio movies, but Netflix will soon have its own as well. Guillermo del Toro will present his stop-motion animated version of the well-known story in December. In a behind-the-scenes clip, Del Toro describes the animation procedure for the movie.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery – TBD 2022

While we wait for the release date announcement, we got a new clip for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery from director Rian Johnson. In this scene, every potential suspect works together to create a puzzle-box invitation to a secluded island that will reveal the solution to the riddle that can only be solved by Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc. A date hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will release this year.

Extraction 2 – TBD 2023

Chris Hemsworth, who starred in Thor: Love and Thunder, will return as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2, the follow-up to one of Netflix’s most ambitious action flicks. Sam Hargrave will return as the director for the sequel which will see Rake trying to get a Georgian gangster’s family released from jail. If the behind-the-scene footage is anything to go by, it’s safe to say that the film will double down on the action.

The Mother – TBD 2023

The Mother features Jennifer Lopez playing a deadly assassin who must come out of hiding when her enemies put her kid at risk. Along with Lopez, Gael Garcia Bernal, Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick and Paul Raci will also appear in the movie.

Heart of Stone – TBD 2023

Heart of Stone, a new action thriller from Netflix stars Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt. The Wonder Woman star calls the film a “very grounded, raw action thriller” in the latest preview. We expect the film to release sometime in 2023.

Netflix TV Shows

The Witcher – Summer 2023

The Witcher starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia will return for its third season in summer 2023. However, while fans wait for the third season, The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel miniseries, will debut on Netflix in December. While we didn’t get any new footage, we can watch the first trailer for the prequel here:

The Crown Season 5 – November 2022

The highly regarded series about the contemporary royal family of England revealed a teaser for its fifth season. The season is expected to concentrate on the effects of Charles and Diana’s terrible marriage and allegedly detail Lady Di’s untimely passing. Considering the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the audience’s interest in the family and the series is at an all-time high.

Emily In Paris Season 3 – December 21, 2022

Emily in Paris will return for a third season on Netflix on December 21 despite receiving a mixed reaction from fans. The series stars Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, an American woman who moves to France to work at a French marketing company named Savoir. The teaser suggests more of the same: fantastic Parisian settings, a fun supporting cast, and Emily’s awful attire.

You Season 4 – February 2023

You, the sensational thriller, is back for a surprising fourth season. While fans expected the third season to be the finale, it seems Netflix has other plans. The upcoming fourth season will be streaming in two parts. You season 4 part 1 will air on February 10, 2023, and part 2 will follow on March 10, 2023.

Hellbound Season 2 – TBD 2023

In a very quick but appropriately dark and nasty teaser, Netflix announced that the Korean series Hellbound will return for a second season. Considering the cliffhanger ending of season one and the positive response, a season two reveal wasn’t a surprise. We didn’t get any release date but it will likely be streaming sometime in 2023.

Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Given Bridgerton’s enormous popularity, it comes as no surprise that Netflix is extending it with a spinoff. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the prequel miniseries, will debut before the third season of Bridgerton and explore Charlotte and George’s courtship and how it led to Bridgerton’s alternative history.

Never Have I Ever – TBD 2023

Never Have I Ever, a popular coming-of-age comedy/drama on Netflix will have its fourth and final season in 2023. The cast discusses their upcoming final season in the video below.

The Umbrella Academy & Stranger Things

While we didn’t get any teaser for the fourth season of The Umbrella Academy, we did get a blooper reel from the third season – which we admit is quite good. The Umbrella Academy based on the Dark Horse comic by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá will hopefully return for a fourth and final season that will wrap up all remaining cliffhangers.

Similarly, we got some bloopers from the fourth season of Stranger Things.
