Attack on Titan debuted Season 4, titled the final season back in 2020. The second part of the season which began in late 2021 just wrapped up last week. Now that we know that the third part is on the way in 2023, it’s confirmed that this will be the final chapter in the series.
The news of the third and final part was announced shortly after the broadcast of the final episode of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 on Japanese TV. Alongside the estimated release window, we also received a new visual and teaser for the third part. Check it out below!
Attack on Titan’s original manga which serves as the source material for the anime ran for 139 chapters and ended its run in April 2021. The ending proved quite controversial among fans which is why MAPPA, the anime production company, might consider changing a few things to alter the narrative.
Even though we feel that Attack on Titan is stretching the ‘Final Season’ too far, at least we are getting a series that is not rushed. We have seen how bad things can get when shows diverge from the source material with Game of Thrones. The last thing we or any fan wants is to see Attack on TItan end its decade-old run with a similar fate.
How many episodes will Attack on Titan Final Season Part Three Have?
Attack on Titan Final Season Part Three has roughly 9 chapters of the manga to be adapted into the anime. With every episode roughly using 1-2 chapters, it seems very likely that Attack on Titan Final Season Part Three will have 8 episodes.
However, new tentative plans suggest that the series will air in April of 2023. The format will supposedly be 4 episodes of one-hour duration. This isn’t confirmed news so take this with a grain of salt.

The final episode of Attack on Titan Final Season Part Two titled ‘Dawn of Humanity’ takes place around the 130th chapter of the manga. The said chapter ends just like the final episode with Eren leading the Colossal Titans directly to the forces of Marley.
